You will have a sub today (Wednesday, Nov. 17). Follow all directions and her rules. If she leaves a name, you will receive a write up. When I am gone, the sub is me, and she deserves your respect and best behavior.
Here are your directions for the day. Please read them all! Post any questions and I will respond.
1) Help the sub take roll. Turn in homework from Monday (2 page worksheet, front/back)
2) Handback your graded papers in clear drawers. Check board for any no name papers. If yours, write your name and put in your class homework bin.
3) Copy Vocab from the bottom 1/2 of page 73. When doing vocab, copy both words. Do not put, pizza, put la pizza. Do put libros, put los libros, etc. While on page 73, ANY vocab you do not have memorized copy from the top section.
VOCAB can go on vocab sheets (colored drawer towards bottom), your own paper, or electronically via quizlet. If you need help, ask each other, and if you cannot log in, use: username: spanish1student password:rottman If doing this, save the flashcards with YOUR NAME in the title.)
I will need to see your vocab on Friday!
4) Take the writing analysis and translations worksheet. Complete front and back. Post questions here. I will go over them when I return, but I expect to see you give a genuine effort.
The writing analysis side:
Find the error. Circle it. Write the correct sentence next to it.
1) Me llama _____. Circle the letter "a". Write Me llamo. Use textbook/notes for help.
3) Soy bajo. She is a girl, so change it to soy baja.
Translations.
Translate from Spanish to English. Use the book. Pages 24, 44, 45, 56, 57. DO NOT USE A TRANSLATOR---will result in a 0.
Check with answer key after you finish---one error, 1 typo--4 on translation should be sois not son
5) Homework worksheet. Complete front and back. Use textbook/notes. Numbers are on page 18 or the number study guide from the start of year. Or http://www.donquijote.org/spanishlanguage/numbers/numbers1.asp
6) Work on the study guide until the end of class. An answer key will be available from the sub, but you will need to share and return it. She will not show you unless you have already completed it.
You may listen to music while you work, but you need to keep talking at a whisper. You will be held accountable for all homework.
I will check the vocab, translations, and homework sheet at the start of class Friday before we go over it, so you must have at least attempted every question.
Check this blog daily for daily assignments and other important information.

Test Coming Up
FYI
There will be a test over all material we have covered thus far in class. It will be on the Monday/Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break. It will focus primarily on time, pronouns, questions and responses, and adjective agreement.
If you will be leaving town early for the holiday, and would like to take it in advance, please let me know by Wednesday.
I will hand out a study guide on Monday, so everyone can begin to study. If you need to check out a textbook to help you prepare, please see me to do so. If you need help studying, please schedule an appointment before school or after school and I will be more than happy to provide tutoring!
On Wednesday, you will have time in class to prepare. For those going on the field trip, you will get the study guide in advance, you can ask me for help, and we have will have a small review before the exam on Thursday/Friday and Monday/Tuesday.
