Gold Day Homework

No tarea!

You guys did great on your quiz! Many of you don't have to retake it. So awesome!

Tuesday: bring your definitions and mi vida loca---we will keep working on them.

Plan on working with pronouns and verbs next week. We will learn how to talk about ourselves and other people. So excited to graduate to full sentences!

We will be planning a lot of review games to practice.

Don't forget testing is Wed. and Thurs. so it will be a shortened week for us, so we need to stay on task to get everything done.

So proud of my unos.

Think about joining Spanish club! If you are already interested, then think about t-shirt ideas to put up for a vote when the clubs get started.

Great classes today.

Gold 4-Bellringer

Watch the following videos from your classmates. Provide any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. This means: something good, something they could improve presented in a POSITIVE, FRIENDLY, SUPPORTIVE, HELPFUL manner. Remember: They are taking a risk by putting themselves out there, and is not your job to be mean or bring them down. We build each other up in this class, so post your comments in a helpful manner. Anything excessively negative will result in a conference with me.

Your comments should state:
1) Something Good
2) Something to Improve
3) What you thought was happening in the video: the spanish you could catch: scenario, names, numbers, etc.

Purple Day

No tarea!!! But glance at your pronouns a few times to make sure you don't forget them. Bring your Mi Vida Loca guide to class, and also first block, hang on to the verb boxes I gave you. Expect a binder check for real this time. =)

Best of luck to my football players! Band members, I can't wait to see you perform Saturday.

Thank you guys for my notes and invitations. SO appreciated. =)

Also....I am proud of you guys. 95% of you walked into class telling me you would bomb the practice quiz. 95% aced it. I'll repeat...95% aced in. I am floored with happiness. Thank you all for taking it seriously. =) The others only missed one or two things. Not bad. I think those retaking it will get it Monday. You guys came *this* close! I'm impressed. Didn't I tell you I will never ask you to do more than i think you can do? And that if you stick with me, I won't let you drown. Today proved it. Thank you so much for an EXCELLENT day in each class.

I hope you guys will consider joining Spanish club. I would be so excited to have you in there. You are a great group and we could really have some fun in there. =) Think about it.

Check Infinite Campus ASAP

Check Infinite Campus ASAP. All grades that I have are posted. The only exception is video scripts submitted via dropbox which I will print tomorrow. Several of you have great videos, and no scripts, and this will KILL your grade so get those scripts in immediately.

Several of you are missing assignments, likely from absences or from turning things in without a name. Please check Infinite Campus. If you have zeros, see me before I post grades Tuesday.

Remember: if you are absent it is up to you to get the make-up work and turn in assignments. I will not hunt you down to get them.

Grades

Midterm grades will be posted Tuesday. I am currently updating all grades. So far, only Purple 1st block is current. I will post when the other classes are completed. If you notice you have a zero for something, here is why:

1) You did not turn in it.
2) You were absent and have not yet made up the work.
3) You have put it in the wrong drawer, and it is currently with another class.
4) No name. I have several papers with no names on them. I will not put a grade in for someone with no name simply because I have a suspicion that it might belong to a certain student. So, this time only I am not throwing those no name papers away. I will hang them up on the board to be claimed by Friday. Start putting names and blocks on papers so grades can easily stay up-to-date! =)

E-mail any questions to kelly.rottman@mccracken.kyschools.us

update Purple 2nd and 4th are now posted.

purple 4th:

If you have a 200/300 on your videos, it is because I am missing the script still. Get it to me by the end of lunch on Tuesday and I can change the grade before the midterms are posted. I know have seen those scripts, so I think you just forgot to submit them. If you put the script in the dropbox and it still says 200/300, it is because your brilliant teacher forgot to print it before she left school Friday. I will go to get those tomorrow and change the grades that evening.

If you have a zero, it means i lack video and script. If I get them on Tuesday, I will give you half credit. If not, it stays a zero. For those who have talked to me about it and are missing it because of ABSENCES, you still have until the end of Friday.
